Ingredients
- Rice- 1 ½ cups
- Biri (Black gram)/udat dal- 1 cup
- Jaggery/ Sugar – 500 grams
- Cardamom (powder)- 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper powder- ½ tsp
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Coconut – ½ of coconut(grinded) and few cut pieces.
- Ground nut-15 or 20 seeds
Method of
preparation:
- Soak Rice and Biri for 2 hrs and then grind to a fine paste.
- Add salt + grinded and few cut pieces of coconut+sugar+black pepper and cardamom powder+ ground nut.
- Mix well.
- Pour the dough to kadei smeared with little oil.
- Bake it for 30 mins in a very slim flame.
- To check for pitha readiness, insert toothpick or fork. If the dough does not stick, its ready.
- Allow the pitha to cool before cutting into pieces.
